Hey nursing friends!
In today's episode I am diving into 4 questions to ask yourself before you decide and make the commitment to further your nursing education. I decided to go back to school for all of the wrong reasons and I wish I would have gotten really clear on my WHY before I committed myself AND my family (because, yes, it does involve them too!). Today, I'll be encouraging you to ask yourself these 4 things:
Questions to ask yourself before you decide and make the commitment:
- Does it feel right, in your heart do you KNOW this is the direction you are supposed to go in?
- Does it make sense for the season your are in right NOW?
- WHY do you want to further your education? To get your Bachelors Degree? Masters? FNP/PA? Is it something God has placed on your heart OR are you doing it for the world, because the world tells you that is the next “right” step? Status, make more $$?
- Financially does it make sense? The world tell us that student loan debt is OK, but it is NOT! Will going back to school put you further into debt? (The fastest-growing debt in America, federal student loans currently sit at a total of $1.56 trillion. Average student loan debt per borrower is $38,792, with average monthly payments coming in at $393....and get this...even if you file bankruptcy, student loans are NOT forgiven...)
